KansasCompass uses artificial intelligence to generate bill summaries, change summaries, topic classifications, and other content. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors or omissions.

AI summaries are not legal advice. They are intended to make legislation more accessible, not to replace professional legal counsel. Always refer to the official bill text on kslegislature.gov for authoritative information.

Data Accuracy

We aggregate data from public government websites, news sources, and social media. While we take care to present accurate information, we cannot guarantee that all data is complete, current, or error-free. Government websites may update or correct records after we have collected them.

Intellectual Property

The KansasCompass platform, its original code, design, and branding are the property of KansasCompass. Legislative text and government records are public domain. News article summaries are our original AI-generated content based on publicly available reporting.

Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in abusive behavior. Upon termination, your personal data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Limitation of Liability

KansasCompass is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, KansasCompass shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform.

We are not liable for decisions made based on information provided by this platform, including AI-generated summaries. Users are responsible for verifying information through official sources.

Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of KansasCompass after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Kansas, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be resolved in the courts of Sedgwick County, Kansas.
